Udayagiri Caves are an important Gupta-period archaeological site near Vidisha, famous for their ancient rock-cut sanctuaries and sculptures. The site is particularly renowned for the monumental Varaha relief depicting Lord Vishnu in his boar incarnation, along with inscriptions, temples and other historic carvings.
