Sanchi Stupa is one of India's most important Buddhist heritage sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Great Stupa was originally commissioned by Emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BCE and the complex later developed into a remarkable group of stupas, temples, monasteries and intricately carved gateways. Visitors can explore the Great Stupa, Ashoka Pillar, Stupa No. 2, Stupa No. 3, Gupta Temple, Buddhist Vihara and the Archaeological Museum.
