Shri Laxmi Narayan Temple, popularly known as Birla Mandir, is one of the most famous Hindu temples in New Delhi. Built by industrialist Baldeo Das Birla and inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1939, the temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Narayan) and Goddess Lakshmi. Constructed in the Nagara style of Hindu temple architecture, the temple features beautifully carved marble, colorful shrines, lush gardens, fountains, and intricately decorated interiors. The complex also includes shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman, Lord Buddha, and Goddess Durga. During festivals such as Janmashtami and Diwali, the temple attracts thousands of devotees and tourists, making it one of Delhi's most important religious and cultural landmarks.
