The Lotus Temple is one of the most iconic landmarks in New Delhi and a symbol of peace, unity, and harmony. Completed in 1986, this magnificent Bahรกสผรญ House of Worship was designed by Iranian architect Fariborz Sahba in the shape of a blooming lotus flower. Constructed using white Pentelic marble imported from Greece, the temple consists of 27 free-standing marble petals arranged in clusters to form nine sides. Open to people of all religions, the Lotus Temple welcomes visitors for silent prayer and meditation without any religious rituals or sermons. Surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and serene water pools, it is one of the most visited buildings in the world and a masterpiece of modern architecture.
