The Sun Temple at Modhera is a magnificent 11th-century temple built during the reign of the Solanki dynasty. Dedicated to the Hindu Sun God Surya, the complex is renowned for its intricately carved Sabha Mandap, Gudha Mandap, sculpted pillars, Surya Kund and detailed depictions of gods, dancers and mythological scenes. It is one of Gujarat's finest examples of medieval temple architecture.
