The Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram is a magnificent collection of 7th and 8th century Pallava monuments on the Coromandel Coast of Tamil Nadu. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is famous for the Shore Temple, Pancha Rathas, Arjuna's Penance, Krishna Mandapa, rock-cut caves, mandapas and beautifully carved stone sculptures. The monuments represent the outstanding artistic and architectural achievements of the Pallava dynasty and are among India's most important historic temple complexes.
