The Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram is a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its 7thโ8th century Pallava-era rock-cut temples, monolithic Pancha Rathas, cave temples, sculpted reliefs and the Shore Temple overlooking the Bay of Bengal. The site is an outstanding example of ancient South Indian architecture and stone carving.
