๐Ÿ“– About

Ellora Caves are one of India's greatest rock-cut architectural achievements and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located about 30 km from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, the complex contains 34 major rock-cut caves created between approximately the 6th and 10th centuries CE. The caves represent three major religious traditionsโ€”Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainismโ€”making Ellora an exceptional example of India's religious and cultural diversity. The most famous monument is Kailasa Temple (Cave 16), an enormous temple carved entirely out of a single rock and dedicated to Lord Shiva. Its monumental sculptures and detailed carvings make Ellora one of India's must-visit heritage destinations.
