The National War Memorial is India's national monument dedicated to the soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces who made the supreme sacrifice in service to the nation after Independence. Inaugurated on 25 February 2019, the memorial is located near India Gate in the heart of New Delhi. Spread across approximately 40 acres, it features four concentric circlesโAmar Chakra (Circle of Immortality), Veerta Chakra (Circle of Bravery), Tyag Chakra (Circle of Sacrifice), and Rakshak Chakra (Circle of Protection). The names of over 26,000 fallen soldiers are inscribed on granite walls, and the Eternal Flame (Amar Jawan Jyoti) symbolizes the nation's gratitude. The memorial is a place of remembrance, patriotism, and national pride.
