Nalanda Mahavihara is one of the world's most important ancient centres of Buddhist learning. The archaeological site preserves the remains of monasteries, temples, stupas, lecture areas and other structures associated with the ancient Nalanda university complex, which flourished for centuries as a major centre of Buddhist scholarship and international learning.
