Jai Vilas Palace was built in 1874 by Maharaja Jayajirao Scindia and combines Italian, Tuscan and Corinthian architectural styles. Part of the palace houses the Scindia Museum, displaying royal furniture, paintings, weapons, manuscripts and other historic objects. Its grand Durbar Hall is especially famous for its enormous chandeliers.
